WMC 2 workshop_ participation

The workshop, organised by AND with Mario Cucinella, compares 34 young designers,
and it has the aim of studying new contemporary and sustainable signs for Florence.
The object of study is the area of Novoli characterized by a random urban patchwork
with greatly unsustainable buildings.

"Building for Bouwkunde" Exhibition_ participation

G.Gianclaudio Caponio (ggc+p a) with Lorenzo Martella participate in the
“Building for Bouwkunde” competition. The challenge object is the new faculty
of Architecture in Delft. All the projects will be showed at the opening of the
exhibition on 14 March _ NAI (Gallery 3), Rotterdam, Netherlands

Holcim Award competition 2008_ participation

The mentioned project was entered in the Holcim Awards competition 2008 in which 4,774
entries were received. The submission was one of 1,875 entries that met the stringent criteria
of the competition and was presented to the respective regional jury headed by:
Europe: Harry Gugger, Switzerland; North America: Adèle Naudé Santos, USA
Latin America: José Luis Cortés, Mexico; Africa Middle East: Joe Osae-Addo, Ghana;
Asia Pacific: Ashok B Lall, India

The conference, organised by “ggc+p a” with the City of Santeramo, has the aim of
discussing new contemporary and sustainable signs for future development of the city.
The object of the meeting is the new urban project, designed by “ggc+p a”, for
“Comparto 2” area in Santeramo in Colle.

Planning as a Criminal Act: One Land Two Systems, Exhibition_ participation

Organizer F.A.S.T. (Foundation for Achieving Seamless Territory) in collaboration with
De Balie Culture and Politic Center, Amsterdam, NL
“Architecture and urban planning are often abused to maintain or aggravate unfair political,
economic or social situations. This was clearly the case in the Israeli governments design
for the future of the Palestinian village Ein Hud”. Our project was exhibited in the
“Mediamatic’s new gallery”, Post CS building, Amsterdam, NL from 6th February, 2005.

9th International Architecture Exhibition, Collateral Event, Venice, Italy_ participation

G.Gianclaudio Caponio studied Architecture at “G. d’Annunzio” University of
Chieti-Pescara, Italy. He received his degree (mark 110/110) under Livio Sacchi in 2003.
The thesis’ project, “Proposta di recupero dell’area sottostante l’asse attrezzato”_ Pescara,
was selected and exhibited at the 9th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice_
collateral events.
