“La point de la joncion”, sworn in since last years of the XIX century and shaped in its planning bond on the first decade of XX century, continuously becomes a conflictual area between city’s environmental and landscape features and development building and economics needs; factory, public offices, local transport services and so on, became more and more important than environmental and landscape aspects, smothering the area’s potential, determining chaos and disqualification not responding to the modern requests of urbanity and sustainability. Here, “Le Rhone” and “L’Arne” flow against the current; they mix theirselves and together go straight to Ginevra’s lake. Their clear and turbid waters lap on this land sometimes flooding her, creating two waterfronts contrasting and joined. The aim of this project is to give back to “la point de joncion” its landscape prestige as a strategic strength to affirm and develop urbanity and sustainability objectives. Green wave’ s system means to reawaken the area surface, and behind this, to realize residential infrastructures and services related to the waterfront.The area and its rivers are an organic set that this project underlies as a “green set” with a public park and building for different kind of services below, opened and related to the waterfront and to the whole park. This system wants to realize direct benefits with respect to the landscape and the interaction of the people that here can meet, communicate, enjoy their free time or live or work, covering this zone by feet or by cycles: here the people can get excited! Different thoughts have been made about mobility and the possibility of using vehicles in the area, deciding for a limited utilization in exceptional circumstances as aid, goods charge and discharge, removal. They opt for cycles and public shuttle buses, organized from and to the city. An other reason against a large use of cars is the chance to develop the Rhone’s fluvial mobility, by structured services of waterfront’s project, such as platforms and berths for boats. Is expected a little parking zone on “la rue Emile Nicolet” and a link with “avenue de la joncion”. The project’s area is signed by a use during the time, determined by choices related to different needs that occupied and disfigured her, making this area loose every reference to places and values. There aren’t ways of a sustainable development building or to “make society”. The proposal is based on these reasons that define the “strong choice” recovering the occupied surface and reawaken her, most likely the origins. The only memory is the fireplace of Kugler’ s factory.
